Employee Monitoring Software, sometime known as Key Logger software is an application that monitors the activities carried out by employees using the company computers. The program can be installed in the main server only while some other monitoring software will need that they be installed in every machine. This programs record anything that happens in the company computers and stores them so that they can be viewed latter, therefore allowing the employer or manager keep an eye on the workers.

Some people may raise questions regarding how ethical the practice of monitoring employees is. Well, first, the computers which the employees work with are the company’s property and the company owners have a right to really know what their assets are used for. All the employer has to do is notify the employees from the very first time they report for work that they’ll be monitored using an Employee Monitoring Software. It should also be remembered that there’s no law that prevents employers from monitoring there staff.
Improving Company Productivity: The Benefits of Keylogger Software
There are many legitimate and practical reasons that warrant the use of Employee Monitoring Software. The primary reason, perhaps, is to make sure that all the staff are doing what they’re paid to do and spend all of the company time in productive activities. Some employees will just go out of their way and start browsing the internet, chatting with friends or visiting other websites unrelated to the business. As a manager, it would be challenging to establish what the employees are doing by just looking at them.
When employees visit some given sites while using company computers, it puts the organization vulnerable to being infected by malicious programs. Some programs are capable of recording and transmitting data from the user’s computer. Should this happen, there is the possibility that the company’s important and confidential information may reach malicious people and cause harm to the company.
Not all employees are honest and some of the information that leaks out of the company may be passed out by the employees while using company computers. To be safe from such malicious employees, the obvious way to go would be to use the Employee Monitoring Software to help you know who is doing what. Additionally, when employees understand that they are being watched, they will refrain from such activities.
Some Employee Monitoring Software have features which could enable the network administrator to lock the computers in the company from being able to view specific websites. By doing this, the employer can be sure that the websites that the employees visit are the authorized ones only. Additionally , it makes it possible to only allow websites that are business related and beneficial to the running of the company.

I’m an IT manager and YES we do use employee monitoring software to avoid data leaks and time wastes, and you know it’s a great thing. Users become more accurate and diligent in their work. Of course, they do not like privacy breaking but it’s company’s hardware and we can do that by the law.
This is intrusive for other people.
